Pineapple Rum Cake Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix 
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1.5 cups crushed pineapple with liquid
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp rum extract


  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

How to make pineapple rum cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 350-degrees Fahrenheit 
  2. Grease your bundt pan
  3. Mix cake mix, pineapple, butter, sour cream, water, and eggs (batter will be thick!)
  4. Add rum extract
  5. Now, prepare your filling: mix butter, flour, sugar, and pecans until a crumbly mixture forms (if needed, add a little more flour)
  6. Pour half of batter into the greased pan and top with filling all around
  7. Now, pour rest of the cake batter over the filling
  8. Bake for 38-40 minutes
  9. Take it out and let it cool for 10 minutes, then turn it onto a cake plate
  10. Once completely cool, top with powdered sugar
  11. Enjoy!
